Content at a glance
More filled segments mean stronger content.
Sex & Nudity
Very little sexual content; characters kiss on the lips.
Violence & Gore
Cartoonish fantasy violence with explosions, drones shooting lasers and bullets, characters shot with arrows, and a bar brawl with a tooth knocked out and a person jumping through glass.
Profanity
Language includes mild terms like 'butt,' 'fart,' 'hell,' and 'heck,' alongside religious exclamations and cut-off profane expressions where the strongest word is omitted.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
An adult drinks what appears to be beer and then drives soon after, without incident; others drink at a bar and some get drunk, leading to a fight.
Frightening Scenes
Intense scenes include cartoonish explosive action such as drones shooting lasers and bullets, buildings blowing up, a car chase with a harpoon and a burning overturned truck, and a character shot with a tranquilizer gun. Peril is prolonged, with characters repeatedly under threat and two people falling off a building before being saved.
Other things to know
Mentions of various brands, merchandise tie-ins, and a recurring joke about Olive Garden.
Positives & learning
More filled segments mean stronger positive content or learning value.
Positive messages
Strong positive themes of friendship, empathy, acceptance, curiosity, courage, and self-sacrifice for those you care about, though reckless behavior often comes without consequences.
Role models
Sonic is playful but irresponsible though he tries to make amends; Tom and his wife Maddie are reliable and loving, while Dr. Robotnik is cartoonishly evil.
Representation
Mixed portrayals: Maddie is depicted as caring and smart, but a supporting character leans into an 'angry Black woman' stereotype for comedy, and a villain bullies his sidekick.
Learning
The editorial review marks educational content as absent.
