We use minimal cookies and local storage to operate ChildSafe Media. This page explains what we set, why we set it, and how you can control it.
What We Use
- Authentication cookies (essential): Set by Supabase to keep you signed in and secure your session.
- Anonymous client ID (localStorage, essential for anonymous users): A random ID used to enforce fair‑use limits in AI chat. This does not track you across other sites.
- Basic visit counts (optional): Vercel Web Analytics counts visits to public pages solely to improve this site. In the UK and US this starts without acceptance unless you opt out; elsewhere we wait for acceptance. Vercel uses a request-derived identifier discarded after 24 hours and provides aggregate statistics. We exclude private pages and strip page URL queries. Turn it off below at any time. We honour previous rejections and Global Privacy Control for these counts.
- Additional analytics (optional): Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (including session recordings) load only after you accept. These have a separate control below.
Review drafts are saved in local storage when you write a review, so your work survives signup or leaving the page. They expire after 30 days and are cleared from this browser when published.

Control optional analytics. Essential cookies are always on for core functionality.
Vercel counts public-page visits to improve the site. On by default in the UK and US; optional everywhere. No advertising or session recordings. A browser Global Privacy Control signal keeps these counts off.
Allow Google Analytics and session recordings (Microsoft Clarity). These only load after acceptance.
- You can accept or reject all analytics via the banner, or control basic counts and additional analytics separately below. Your choices are saved in local storage.
- Disabling analytics here reloads the page immediately to stop active analytics scripts.
- You can block analytics scripts using browser settings or extensions. Core functionality does not require analytics.
- Authentication cookies are strictly necessary for signed‑in features.
