Ages 8+, but every child is different

The musical format and casting of children in adult roles provide a safe, stylized distance from typical gangster themes. While the subject matter involves conflict and weaponry, the non-lethal nature of the presentation is suitable for school-aged children.

Content Safety Breakdown

Detailed breakdown of potentially concerning content

Sex & Nudity

1/5

The film features mild romantic tension and some flirtatious singing performances by characters in glamorous costumes. There is no sexual activity or nudity, but the stage performances are suggestive of adult-oriented club singers.

Violence & Gore

2/5

The movie depicts a stylized 'gangster war' where characters use 'splurge guns' that fire custard pies or whipped cream. While there is aggressive behavior and characters are comically 'covered' in foam, there is no blood or realistic injury.

Profanity

1/5

The dialogue is very clean, featuring only occasional mild exclamations like d*mn or h*ll used in low-intensity contexts.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

2/5

The setting is a prohibition-era speakeasy, so background characters are frequently seen sipping from glassware meant to represent alcoholic beverages. While the context is drinking, it is presented in a highly stylized, period-appropriate musical fashion.

Frightening Scenes

1/5

The scenes maintain a lighthearted, comedic tone, though the gangster themes create minor, non-scary tension between rival groups. There are no elements meant to frighten or deeply distress children.
